Julie A. Steiger, 31, of Troy passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born March 25, 1986 in Libby to Terry Lee and Tami Marie (Morse) Steiger. Julie grew up and attended elementary and high school in Troy, graduating with the Class of 2004.

Following high school, she attended college at Montana State in Bozeman. She completed 2 ½ years of college, working towards a teaching degree. Julie then went to work for a security company and worked as a security guard at the Troy Mine, and then worked for the City Of Troy police department as a dispatcher. In 2013, she went to work for Buckhorn Energy in North Dakota where she was a current employee.

Julie lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed camping; listening to music; riding four wheelers; and mostly, spending time with her family whom she loved dearly. Julie was a “people person” and just loved hanging out and spending time with others. She will be remembered for the beautiful smile she always had for you. Julie had a “heart of gold” and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, Terry.

Survivors include her mother Tami Thill (James) of Troy; her brother Tom Steiger of Troy; nieces and nephews Jeremy, Trever, and Grace; grandparents Bruce Morse of Ellensburg, Washington and Christine Robbins (Ray) of Troy; and great-grandparents Lester Ellsworth of Troy and Bopa Morse of Ellensburg, Washington.

Services for Julie will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 at the Troy Community Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home.
