Frank Sichting

Frank Sichting, 84, died on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at the Libby Care Center. He was born on July 1, 1933 at home on Doak Creek in Libby to Frank and Bessie Sichting.

Frank married Lorraine Rice on July 2, 1956. They had three children and 61 good years of marriage. He was drafted into the U.S. Army July 10, 1956 and spent most of his time in Germany and got to see several countries while he was there. Frank started working for the J. Neils Lumber Company at age 18. He went back to work for them after the Army until he retired at age 61.

Frank loved to fish, hunt, camp and he taught his sons and grandsons how to fish, hunt and pick huckleberries. They loved going out with Dad/Grandpa. Frank taught hunter’s safety for many years, he was the chief instructor for years. He got awards for 40 years of service.

Frank never knew a stranger, he would visit with everyone. He was a great husband, dad and had many friends. He loved to dance and socialize.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Frank; two brothers, Fred and Francis; and a sister, Kathryn Alex.

Survivors include his wife Lorraine; a brother Jim; sons David (Heidi) and Bill; daughter Shelley Fisher; grandsons A. J. Sichting (Melissa) and Sam Fisher; granddaughters Cassie Hubler (Levi) and Lyndsey Peiffer (Eric); four great-grandsons, Jeffrey, Lyric, Zane and William; and special “adopted” kids, friends of his children.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017 at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Libby.
