Kootenai Country Montana organized Libby’s first chainsaw carving championship, which took place Friday through Sunday at the north end of Mineral Avenue. Spectators were able to watch local artist Ron Adamson and 13 other competitors work on more time-consuming competition sculptures as well as so-called “quick-carve” items hewn from smaller pieces of wood.
