Northwest Community Health Center holds open house in Troy
Northwest Community Health Center held an open house at the new clinic in Troy on Wednesday night. The clinic, which will provide health and dental services to about 1,500 people annually, has five fulltime employees — two medical providers, one behavioral health specialist, one dentist and one hygienist — as well as Women, Infants and Children (WIC) services.
The new facility provides Troy-area residents not only a new healthcare facility, but also additional services. Three providers will staff the clinic each week. Dr. Jana Hall will be in Troy twice a week, while Joe Chopyak, PA-C, will continue two days a week in Troy. Chad Rebo, PA-C, will see patients three days a week in Troy. A behavioral health provider and WIC representative will work in Troy one day a week.
A recent Oral Health Expansion grant from the Health Resources Services Administration will allow the clinic to offer dental services. Currently, patients who are in need of dental services travel frequently to Libby for dental services from Troy, Noxon, Trout Creek and Plains to be able access the NWCHC’s Sliding Fee Scale, which provides discounts to those who are living at or below 200 percent of poverty. Since Medicaid Expansion was passed, NWCHC has seen a significant increase to their Medicaid population, many who have never had dental benefits before.
The facility has two features that most clinics do not — a shower and bathroom and a laundry facility. About 3 to 4 people use these amenities a week, officials say.
