Libby volleyball bests Columbia Falls, 3-0, in away game
Libby volleyball saw a win Tuesday night against Columbia Falls, with 25 being their lucky number in a Class A volleyball conference matchup — scoring 25-18, 25-17, 25-12.
The team led with a total of 48 kills, with Jessika Jones and Brooklyn Rainer leading with 11 each, and Jayden Winslow following closely with 10.
Coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said Jones did “very nice work” and “had the ‘midas touch’ for the whole game.”
Ostrem-Johnson also said that Rainer played a solid game, and that Winslow played solid in every aspect of the game.
The team totaled 38 assists to the Wildkats seven, with Alli Collins accounting for 33 of Libby’s efforts.
Emma Gruber also came through for the team, leading in aces and digs.
Players with 100 per cent serving success were Lindsey Walker, Jayden Winslow and Brooklyn Rainer.
Ostrem-Johnson commented “This was a good solid win on the road. I like the fact that we are taking some risks and running some different offenses.”
The coach expects the team will continue to work hard, spurred on by this early season win.
Libby moved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play on the young season.
