Jennifer Dotson

| October 31, 2017 4:00 AM

Jennifer Dotson — daughter of Lorry and Susan Dotson, wife of Dennis “D-Jay” Filcher, and sister to Janis Stritchfield, Liz Voorhies and Nick Dotson — lost her courageous battle with cancer Oct. 27, 2017.

Jennifer was born in Bellingham, Washington on April 27, 1967. Shortly thereafter she and her family moved to Libby where she was raised.

She graduated from Libby High School in 1985. Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Montana, then moved to Portland, Oregon, where she met the love of her life, “D-Jay” Filcher, while they were both working for the homeless.

In Portland they both went on to earn their registered nursing degrees. A few years later they moved to Spokane and worked at Eastern State Hospital.

Jennifer is survived by D-Jay, her husband of 17 years; her parents; three siblings; two nephews; six nieces; one great niece; Ellie her faithful Chihuahua; and Lou the cat.

Jennifer will be deeply missed by all who loved her and were so awed by her heroic eight-and-a-half year battle against cancer.

She was our Warrior.
