Christ Lutheran Church on Sunday, Oct. 29 hosts a celebration of feasting and festivities in honor of the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

The public is welcome and there is no cost to attend, but a head count is required for meal planning so please call 406-293-3705 to reserve a meal.

The celebration begins 11 a.m. with games and educational events. Brats, German potato salad, apple dessert and “Reformation sundaes” will be served at noon.

The dramatic and turbulent reformation that began in medieval Germany and spread throughout Europe is traditionally observed on Oct. 31 and is often overshadowed in this country by the secular celebration of Halloween,” a news release states. “The Protestant Reformation is at the root of all protestant denominations and had significant impact on the Roman and Orthodox Catholic faiths as well.”

The church is located at 200 W Larch St. in Libby.
