Thank you Charlie McFarland
The Heritage Museum Board of Directors would like to thank Charles (Charlie) McFarland for serving as board president for the past year and a half. For personal reasons, Charlie has resigned from his position; Vice President Ericka Hardgrove is the new board president.
Under Charlie’s leadership museum volunteers accomplished many outside projects including: the new open-air Heritage Pavilion and recent naming ceremony, the extended RV parking area, the second driveway entrance/exit off Highway 2, two Kelly green painted wheels at the entrance, the lighted Museum sign, the lighted flag pole, a restored water wagon and hose reel, and the new outdoor signage for artifacts.
Also under his leadership museum volunteers accomplished many inside projects including: completion of the Shay Locomotive Strategic Plan, renovated tube sheets for the Shay boiler, a new safety stair rail to the tower room, establishment of the Winter Expo for direct sales vendors the second weekend in November, the gift shop remodel, completion of security/fire alarm compliance, organization/storage for the Model T building, proposed extension of the Museum’s open season from May 1 through Sept. 30, and proposed repair of the electric and plumbing in the museum building crawl space.
The volunteers at the museum thank you, Charlie!
