The Kootenai River Stampede PRCA Rodeo committee invites 2017 rodeo sponsors and the public to join them for a fundraising kickoff event for next year’s rodeo.

The “Brews for Benefits” event will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 12 at Cabinet Mountain Brewing Company at 206 Mineral Ave. in Libby.

According to a news release, rodeo committee members will introduce special guests, give thanks for the “fantastic support” businesses and individuals provided to last summer’s rodeo, and outline future opportunities for sponsors and volunteers.

“While there is a core of dedicated local residents, more volunteers and helpers are always welcome,” the news release states.

Committee members Trisha Davis-Stacy, Brent Jordan and John Smith — all Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association members — are praised in the news release, for “without their commitment to this event and this community, there would not have been a rodeo this past summer. They drove through treacherous weather and over icy roads last February to hold a meeting from which evolved the all-new Kootenai River Stampede rodeo committee.”
