Tony G. Stubbs

Tony G. Stubbs 53, passed away Sept. 20, 2017. He was born Feb. 29, 1964 (leap year) to the parents of Roy G. Stubbs and Nancy L. Pernigotti of Klamath Falls, Oregon. The family moved to Spokane after his father’s death and through the friends Tony made in Spokane, he found Libby by working on the fire crew fighting the Hougadon Fire east of Libby.

Tony decided to stay in Libby and entered Libby High School. After graduation, he enlisted into the Air National Guard with his girlfriend, now his wife, and traveled abroad for a couple of years. On his return from service he worked at the Ready Mix until it closed. He contributed a great amount of work establishing the “Swinging Bridge” as we know it today. He also had a hand in the building of the Treasure Mountain Casino.

Tony made many friends in Libby and established a home for his wife Roxy Jangula, two stepdaughters, Sherri and Nikki, and a young son, Aaron.

Tony loved the outdoors so much that he made the comment that Libby was the only place that moose ate out of the garbage cans. His greatest love was his family and his friends.

Six years ago Tony moved his family to Butte for work. Tony was employed with “Sweet Rides Logistics“, driving the big fig show trucks upon his death.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy L. Malone-Pernigotti of Libby; wife Roxy Jangula of Butte; stepdaughters Sherri Maxim of Libby and Nikki Jangula of Spokane, Washington; son Aaron Stubbs of Butte; brothers Steven Stubbs of Libby and David Stubbs of Klamath Falls, Oregon; sister Lisa Treece of Spokane; many nieces and nephews and grandchildren. We will sorely miss him.

A memorial service and celebration of Tony’s life will be held at the Red Dog 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.
