Part of Education Way in Libby will be closed twice Tuesday morning, Nov. 14, before and after an event to send off the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree, which this year was selected from the Kootenai National Forest.

The closures will happen from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. between Libby High School and Libby Elementary School. The closures will allow more than 650 students to walk safely between the schools before and after the 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. ceremony on the Libby High School practice field.

Libby Schools Superintendent Craig Barringer requested the closure at Monday night’s Libby City Council meeting. His request was approved in a 6-0 vote.
