Richard Earl Eby, 82, of Moyie Springs, Idaho, previously of Libby, and as a child of Copeland, Idaho, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the Libby Care Center surrounded by his loving family. There will be a memorial service with potluck following June 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Copeland Hall in Bonners Ferry.

Richard was born Dec. 17, 1934 in Cady, South Dakota to Joe and Eva Fletcher Eby. He was the eighth child out of 11.

He married Beverly Cameron and they shared 63 years together. They moved to Libby in 1958 and he went to work at J. Neils Lumber Company, St. Regis and then Champion International. He retired in 1990 from the mill after working in the timber industry all his life.

Richard enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and looking for mushrooms, huckleberries and fire wood. His greatest love was his family and friends and he was very blessed to have many of both. He enjoyed helping people build, remodel and repair. We used the saying “Have hammer will travel” due to all the help he gave. He was always giving his time and opinion. He will be missed greatly by his family, for he was loved beyond words.

Survivors include his wife Beverly Eby; children Dixie Beasley (Denny Lester), Rick Eby (Shauney Fisher) and Cheri (Robert) Javorsky; six grandchildren Les Beasley, Robin (Julianne) Maiden, Jeremiah (Danielle) Maiden, Trevor (Paige) Maiden, Tyler (Jessica) Beasley and Joseph Eby (Kristen Sikes); eight great-grandchildren Hailie, Barrett, Anson, Max, Penelope, Raymond, August and Wesley. Richard also had sisters Sandy Bailey, May Ann Tolle and Peggy Peterson, a brother Les Eby, as well as nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Fay, Don, Glen, Ralph and Bob; his sister Velma and his grandson Les Beasley.

The family expresses deepest gratitude and thank you to his doctor, Dr. Geyman and staff, the Libby Care Center and Boundary County Hospital for the gentle and loving care they gave him and his family.
