Christopher Eugene 'Chris' Drake

Christopher Eugene “Chris” Drake passed away suddenly April 28, 2017 in Helena. He was born September 4, 1981 to Doug and Linda Drake.

Chris was a hard and dependable worker. He worked at BMC in Helena for 11 years before becoming a roofer. On August 29, 2005 he married Wendy Sloan and adopted her two beautiful children, Kyleigh and Tommy.

Chris had countless passions and hobbies. He especially loved the mountains and the outdoor activities; snowboarding, camping, bowling, softball and pool were among his favorites, but fishing was his greatest passion, besides his kids. He adored his kids and always took time off work to be at their school activities. He loved fishing with his dad whenever he came home. He valued trips back home to Libby where he could spend time with his family. He was loved more than he realized and he will be sorely missed.

Chris was preceded in death by baby brother Danny, grandparents Morris and Ida Norstebon and Al and Betty Overby. He is survived by wife Wendy and his children Kyleigh and Tommy, all of Helena; his parents, Doug and Julie Drake of Libby and Jerry and Linda Snyder of Council Bluffs, Iowa; sisters Emily (James) Magone of San Antonio, Texas and Chelsea of Libby; grandparents Gene and Hazel Drake and Bernie Enger, all of Libby; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services were held in Helena. A celebration of Chris’ life will be held by the family later this summer.
