Spring is coming, and for Lincoln County that means it’s time for the annual Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Health Fair. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 1, 2017, and be at the Memorial Center between 9:30 a.m. and noon to enjoy this health and wellness extravaganza!
The Cabinet Peaks Medical Center Health Fair celebrates health and wellness with our community by providing reduced cost and free lab screenings and bringing together a wealth of information from organizations across the region as well as the departments of Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. Among the booths and fair exhibits will be wellness related displays and activities featuring healthy food options, alternative therapies, the effects of drugs & alcohol, tobacco prevention, stroke prevention, outdoor recreational activities and fitness activites, including a rock climbing wall, the ever-popular kids zone and much more.
Free and discounted screening vouchers for lab tests will be available only at the fair again this year. Tests offered include cholesterol (LIPID), glucose, glycohemoglobin (A1C), anemia, and thyroid (TSH). All draws will be completed at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in the weeks following the fair, and test results will be sent directly to each patient. “The first 200 people to show up at the fair and sign up for a draw time will be given free lipid and glucose tests,” stated Kate Stephens, Marketing Manager and Health Fair Coordinator at Cabinet Peaks. “As always, the additional tests, such as TSH, A1C, and Hemogram will be offered at a discounted price. If more than 200 fair goers come to sign up for draws, any additional folks will be offered all of the tests at the discounted price.”
Stephens is thrilled to be offering the fair to the community once again this year. “This annual health fair is just one more way that Cabinet Peaks Medical Center can give back to the community that it serves. Our employees really enjoy the event. They love being given the opportunity to educate the public on health, wellness, and all the things they do in their jobs every day to make lives better for the people of South Lincoln County. We are also thrilled to be bringing back the Kids Zone. This special area will be full of fun activities, as well as health and wellness related information that will appeal to your little ones. It is a fantastic addition to the event!”
