Appointments at two upcoming clinics in Libby to spay, neuter and vaccinate pets have filled quickly, yet organizers say they still need volunteers to help make it happen.

The clinics will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24 and 25 at the Pioneer Center in Libby’s Pioneer Park. A clinic is also slated for June 23 in Eureka at the Fortine Elementary School gym. They are sponsored by Libby Friends of the Shelter, the Tobacco Valley Animal Shelter in Eureka, Spay Montana and Lincoln County.

“At this point our Libby clinics are full and we are taking names in case of cancellations,” Wendy Anderson, director of Libby Friends of the Shelter, said via email. “We are very excited to have over 80 pets from Libby and Troy signed up to be altered. (Yet) we are still in need of many volunteers to pull off this massive feat.”

The cost to spay or neuter a pet or vaccinate it for rabies is $10, she wrote.
