Martha June Phoenix

Martha June Phoenix, 65, of Libby died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home. She was born to Fred and June (Miller) Clark on Jan. 28, 1952.

Martha graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a bachelor’s degree in English literature and later graduated from Gonzaga University with a bachelor’s of science in nursing. She worked as a nurse in Alaska and Montana, retiring from Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby.

She married Stephen Dahm and spent a large part of her life traveling the world. Throughout their travels they had three sons and divorced after 24 years.

Martha later married her husband, Gary Phoenix, and happily enjoyed the remainder of her life with him. They loved camping and spending time with their five boys. Martha loved hosting gatherings for her loved ones and could most often be found at the lake reading a good book and sunbathing.

She is survived by her husband Gary L. Phoenix; her sons John Dahm of Virginia City, Mark Dahm of Libby and Luke Dahm of Spokane; stepsons Craig Phoenix of Libby and Jarad Phoenix of Missoula; brothers Fred and Glenice Clark of Puyallup, Washington, John and Alta Clark of Grangeville, Idaho, Tom and Brenda Clark of Spokane, and Judy Clark of Post Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and former spouse Stephen Dahm of Kotzebue, Alaska.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017 at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home.
