Thank you for supporting Troy schools

| July 14, 2017 4:00 AM

The dust has settled and aching feet have been soothed. The Centennial and All School Reunion have come and gone. What a great turn out for the celebration. So many people helped to make this event happen. We have mentioned our donors on posters, but we would like to take this moment to thank those behind the scenes.

Superintendent of Schools Jake Francom was great to work with. “Can’t happen” was not in his vocabulary. Keith Haggerty, head of maintenance, and his student workers were invaluable. Keith was the man to go to when we encountered a logistical problem (and we did). Kris Newton and her staff created those wonderful cupcakes everyone raved about. Amber Young put in extra hours to make sure the slideshow happened. Joyce and Bob Welch and the Cruzers Car Club added something special to our Saturday event. And, then there were the cool kids from Turning Winds in the Yaak. They helped clean and set up tables and chairs, and did KP duty for us throughout the event.

The Reunion Committee, Mary Ruth Hays Bellamy, Paula Becquart Buhman, Margie Brown Grimm, Nancy Savage Bruland, Terry Holmes, Brenda Boswell, Kathy Gresham Anthony, Francine Ninneman, Ed Winslow and Jean Gresham Steele want thank the Troy Community for their support.

The generosity of participants at the three-day event will provide $8,000 for scholarships and $2,000 for Troy High School Student Council.
