“Rapunzel” will be presented at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Troy High School Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 11. Admission is $4 adult and $1 student at the door.

An audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s production of “Rapunzel” on Monday Feb. 6 from 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.. Those auditioning should arrive at 3:40 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

Among the roles to be cast include “Rapunzel”, the Princess, Madame Gothel, “Rapunzel”’s parents, the Wood Elves, Ears of Corn and a Potato, Unicorns, Pixies, Gremlins, Billy Goats Gruff, a Troll, Three Bears, a Beaver, Ogres and Mushrooms. All students, grades kindergarten through 12th grade in the Troy School District, are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is necessary.

Assistant Directors will also be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production. Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup. The MCT Tour Actor/Directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week.

It’s out of the tower and on the run as a zany cast of friends and foes help “Rapunzel”’s harrowing escape from the towering imprisonment of Madame Gothel. Add a dash of French flair and a pinch of personal triumph and friendship and you have a story you won’t forget!

The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Troy is presented locally by the Troy Fine Arts Council with support from Troy Parks and Recreation and the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation.
