| January 24, 2017 12:42 PM

Jewel “Glenda” Adamson, 84, of Troy, and most recently of Billings, passed away on Jan. 16, 2017. At the time of death, her daughter (Teri) was by her side.

Glenda was born in Akron, Colorado on March 15, 1932 to Louis and Eva Johnson. She graduated from Ronan High School in 1950. After graduation, Glenda married Jack Adamson, the love of her life. They married Dec. 3, 1950 and were together 36 years before Jack’s death.

Glenda and Jack lived in Kalispell for many years before moving to Troy in 1969. Following Jack’s passing in 1986, Glenda remained in Troy and continued to work and be a wonderful role model for her children and grandchildren.

Glenda worked at many different jobs throughout her life, but the job she loved the most was the years she spent as school secretary at Morrison Elementary in Troy. She loved every child that walked through the front door and made many lifetime friends with co-workers, parents and students. She was a huge supporter of the Troy Trojans and the women’s Big Sky softball team. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan when it came to any sports they played.

Glenda loved playing the piano, singing, camping, bowling and her trips to Las Vegas. She could always put a smile on your face with her quick wit and warm smile. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend who will be missed dearly by all.

Glenda is survived by son, Don Adamson and wife Barb (Billings) son, Ron Adamson and wife Ro (Las Vegas, Nev.) daughter, Teri Osterberg and husband Dale (Troy, Montana) daughter, Sandi Meyer and husband Steve (Ankeny, Iowa) daughter, Lisa Rayson and husband Kurt (Troy). Glenda was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Eva Johnson, husband Jack Adamson, grandson Aaron Adamson and sister Marcelyn Wood.

A memorial date for Glenda will be set at a later time and the family suggests memorial bequests be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road (2nd floor), Bethesda, MD 20814 or www.CFF.org.
