Linda Lee Crooks
Linda Lee Crooks 56, passed away from natural causes Jan. 10, 2017 at Swedish Center in Seattle, Wash. Linda was born on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico July 3, 1960. At six months of age, she was adopted by Vernon and Mary Joyce Crooks.
As a member of the Church of Christ, Linda was passionate about her mission to help others. Linda was a 1978 graduate of Libby High. Further education included graduation from Oklahoma Christian University as well as studies at Eastern Oklahoma University and the University of Texas at Denton. Professionally, Linda had a colorful and diverse life. She worked for the Navajo Nation right out of college after which she was employed by the Oklahoma State Department of Corrections. Later after receiving additional bachelor and master degrees she taught for the Louisville School System in Dallas, Texas. As a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant she advanced to the Diamond Sales level.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Mary Joyce Crooks. She is survived by her step father Lovel Hughes of Tuttle, Okla., step sister Debbie Eddie of Tuttle, Okla., two brothers, Larry Crooks of Austin, Texas, Terry Crooks of Libby, as well as many nieces and nephews scattered across the nation.
As an organ downer Linda’s retinas were passed to two matching recipients. She also donated her body to medical research and her remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be arranged in late spring to enable family and friends to celebrate the return of her spirit to the Lord.
