Forrest R. Meyer

Forrest R. Meyer, 80, died Saturday Jan. 14 at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Libby. He was born in Spokane, Wash. on Feb. 11, 1936 to Cornelius (Neil) and Christine Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ida in 2009; a son Ronald in 1985 as well as siblings Lewis, Frank and Albert Meyer and Darlene Meyer Clark. Survivors include daughters Cheri Meyer (Rich); Tamara Syth-Benner (Robert); and Melody Skillings (Jerry); sons Forrest J. Meyer (Penny); and Tom Meyer (Pam). Also surviving are bothers Don and Dale and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Forrest married Ida Gregerson June 8, 1954 at Livingston, residing there until moving to Troy and purchasing land on Lake Creek Road. An avid firearms enthusiast, Forrest loved to collect and shoot black powder firearms and reloading; he enjoyed the Montana great outdoors where he liked to hunt, fish and ride his horses.

A graveside service will be Friday (1-20) at 1:00 p.m. at Milnor Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home from 1-7 p.m. Thursday. Condolences and memories may be shared online by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
