Thank you Libby volunteers

| January 10, 2017 12:02 PM

I retired from the Operating Engineers after 34 years and prior to that I was in the Labor’s Union for eight years as a concrete placing foreman. The various crafts all have apprentice programs. We built defense plants, missile bases to name a few. I have helped train people some of the skills needed to be safe and productive. I always stressed to our members to support your local community.

The reason for this letter is that for the past few years I have been personally hearing a few former business owners who have not retired saying the down turn in Libby is caused mostly by post-organized labor. My view is that is people do not make a living wage and we all feel it.

Having moved to Libby in 1968 I have seen Libby improve in many ways. Streets, alleys, sewer, water, curbs and gutters. The tree planting, the flowers on the boulevards, much of it done by volunteers.

Thank you one and all.
