Schools are getting brighter

Over this past weekend, the Libby High School’s Ralph Tate gymnasium got a little brighter.
The new lights in the gymnasium are just the first step in upgrading the district’s lighting to the more efficient and longer-lasting LED lights.
Working in the evening and around the school schedule, Superintendent Craig Barringer said they plan on having all the lights replaced by the end of the school year.
These lights are part of an entire $850,000 package that will help the school save money in the long run. Barringer said that the savings from the lights will add to their biggest savings which will be from water costs when they replace some of the sinks and toilets throughout the district.
The lights will also come before the 52-year-old gym floor is replaced over the summer.
