Anna Johnson

With her family by her side, Anna Johnson went home to be with her Lord on Dec. 26, 2016.

Born Anna Webster Penny on Jan. 17, 1922 in Macoun, Saskatchewan, Canada to James and Mabel Penny. She had two sisters, Patricia Robb, Elaine Taylor and one brother, James Penny. Anna attended grade and high school in Macoun. She trained and worked as a telephone operator in Regina and Saskatoon before moving to Edmonton, Alberta to work in medical records at the University of Alberta Hospital. She was recording secretary for the Junior Chamber of Commerce and ran the picture shows for the soldiers in the hospital. In 1953 Anna moved to Banff, Alberta and worked for the telephone company.

In 1957, she moved to Tacoma, WA and worked for Aetna Life Insurance. There she met Warren Johnson. They married in 1959 and moved to Libby where they raised their two sons, Gregory and Glenn Johnson.

Anna worked at St John’s Lutheran Hospital, the Pacific Power Company, the Clothes Horse and Tog Shop. She volunteered and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary, Red Cross, Boy Scouts and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she served on many committees.

Anna is survived by her brother James, son Gregory Johnson, son Glenn and his wife Chris Johnson and two step-grandchildren, Kylan and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband.

Anna’s service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in the late spring so that other members of her family are able to attend.
