Keith A. Hedahl

| January 3, 2017 11:03 AM

Keith A. Hedahl, 71, slipped away from his family early Christmas morning at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He was born Sept. 26, 1945 at Ada, Minnesota to Kermit and Helen (Larson) Hedahl. He lived in several small towns in North Dakota and Minnesota. Keith graduated from high school in Twin Valley, Minnesota in 1963. His uncle Tony invited him to move to Libby as there was work here.

Keith met Sara, his wife of 51 years, in 1965, while working at J. Neils and her at Murph’s In & Out. They married after a very short courtship. Keith, newly drafted in the U.S. Army, left 10 days later. He went to Ft. Riley, Kansas and then to Viet Nam. He returned to Libby after his honorable discharge and went back to work at J. Neils and then St. Regis until the mill shut down.

Keith was a friendly person, loving to visit with family and friends. His granddaughters were the light of his life. He had a special great niece, born on his 50th birthday, Selina Koon. He will be truly missed!

Keith was preceded in death by his daughter Lacie, brothers Ray and Wayne and his parents, Kermit and Helen.

Survivors include his wife Sara; sons Jeremy Hedahl (Kimberly), and daughter Audrey; Eli Hedahl (Tasha) and two daughters Scarlett and Violett; a sister Bevin Wyatt (William) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Jan. 7, 2017, at Christ Lutheran Church in Libby. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.schnackenbergfh.com.
