Glacier Insurance sponsors motivational speaker
Submitted by Kim Peck
On Monday, Feb. 27, Glacier Insurance is sponsoring a guest speaker to talk with Sixth-12th grades at 1:30 p.m. in the high school gym. Pat Goldhahn, from Fairfield, Mont, will be speaking with the students. Pat’s daughter, Lauryn Goldhahn, passed away Aug. 27, 2016 from a car accident in Fairfield. Our high school football team played Fairfield that week in Fairfield. Our parents and fans there were amazing, collecting almost $200 in cash for their family out of their own pockets. But our football team needed the true recognition for their outstanding respect and sympathy they showed Fairfield players, coaches, fans and Lauryn’s family. The Loggers participated in a remembrance after the game on the football field with Fairfield. I was so proud of our kids from Libby and their behavior representing our community during a time of extreme sorrow for this town and the families in it. After the game was over, the team immediately went to our end zone and kneeled down in a line. The announcer then asked the Libby team if they would like to join the Fairfield community in the center of the field. The team was touched to be included in this. For just a few minutes, both teams and fans from Fairfield and Libby were one. It was very emotional and moving.
Lauryn’s dad, Pat, is now traveling around the state telling Lauryn’s story, along with discussing the importance of wearing seatbelts. The assembly will take approximately one hour. It will be a full circle of our football team to shake Pat’s hand and once again give him their respect. Pat is an amazing, strong man and he will be outstanding for our students.
You are welcome to attend. Call or email me with questions.
