“Giving back is where you give, and then nothing happens. No benefits for you, no recognition, nothing tangible gets sent your way. Your biggest and sole reward is the realization that you’ve made a significant change in someone’s life. And if not “significant”, then a positive change nevertheless.” — Thulisile Radebe, Former Protector of South Africa.

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center employees are giving back to their local communities in more ways than providing quality, compassionate health care.

“While you may not see CPMC employees at every local event and fundraiser, several of them do their part to give back in their own unique ways,” stated Kate Stephens, Foundation Director and Marketing Manager at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center. “Most of our employees work [over 40] hours a week and still find time to be active members of our community.”

Some CPMC employees volunteer with local youth by sitting on the school board, coaching youth sports teams, announcing sporting events, and leading after school programs such as Graduation Matters, Unite for Youth, and the Best Beginnings Council. Many are involved in various church activities and programs such as Christ Kitchen and GAP. Others sit on committees which including everything from quilt guilds to The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and the local Rotary club. CPMC employees can also be found at board meetings that lend a hand with economic development, such as KRDC, and taking part in non-profit organizations like WINGs, Paint It Pink, and STOKR.

Even more employees put their talents in the health care field to work by providing first aid and basic CPR training outside of their time at the hospital. Several more give educational talks and demonstrations at local businesses and health clubs.

”Community support and the ever present willingness to come together for the greater good are the backbone of small communities like ours. I am grateful to work with a group of individuals who understand that and who do their part,” added Stephens. “So many Cabinet Peaks Medical Center employees strive to demonstrate a commitment to our society not only through the services they provide in their fields as healthcare professionals, but in the pride they take in their community by giving back in so many unique and diverse ways.”
