Gerald 'Jerry' L. Bass

Gerald “Jerry” L. Bass, 77, of Libby died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Brendan House in Kalispell. He was born on Nov. 11, 1940 in Casper, Wyoming to Marshal and Betty (Coleman) Bass. He grew up and attended school in Sandpoint, Idaho. His family moved to Libby when he was 13.

Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army on Jan. 11, 1962, and he spent time in Germany before he was honorably discharged on Jan. 9, 1964. He went to work for J. Neils Lumber Company and stayed on there for 38 years. He owned two trailer courts in Libby and a laundromat. Jerry enjoyed working and reading. He married Barbara Hume in 1985 in Spokane, Washington.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Barbara in 2016.

Survivors include his siblings Sandra Hutcherson of Salmon, Idaho, and Richard Hunt of Olympia, Washington.
