Ardith L. Guinard
Ardith L. Guinard, 77, of Libby passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017 at the Libby Care Center. She was born October 21, 1940 in Troy to Lionel and Edith (Stapley) Scott.
Ardith owned and operated a ceramic shop for numerous years in Libby and later on Bull Lake Road. She began Kootenai Clays, digging clay locally and creating unique pieces of ceramics with streaks of browns, pinks and sometimes blue. She loved and raised Pomeranian dogs to sell and she had a large bird aviary and raised numerous types.
Ardith belonged to Tender Loving Quilters quilt guild in Troy; the VFW Women’s Auxiliary; and a worldwide pen club. Ardith cooked for several places which included Bears Truck Stop, Husky Café, Jacks Café, the Troy Schools and the Troy Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering, crocheting, ceramics, stained glass, pinochle, sewing, baking and reading. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends that knew and loved her.
Ardith was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Clifford Scott; and in January 1960 the family experienced a tragic house fire that took the lives of her siblings, Aaron, 13, Carl, 10, Barbara, 8, Mildred, 6, Mary, 4, and Edna, 2. Days later 4 month old Leslie passed from smoke inhalation.
She is survived by her brothers Walt Scott, Jesse Scott and wife Peggy; Buddy Scott and wife Laurie; and Tony Scott; children, Jimmy C. Guinard and wife Maise; Fred Guinard and wife Gabrielle; daughters Randy L. Guinard-Bacon and husband Allan Bacon; and Tracy Guinard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her first great-great-granddaughter is due this month
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at the Troy Church of God. Arrangements are by Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home in Libby.
