Former Stinger Welding facility offered for $3.415 million

The building that once housed Stinger Welding in Libby’s Kootenai Business Park has been put on the market for $3,415,000.

The listing follows an agreement made Nov. 8 between the Lincoln County Port Authority and Fisher Industries, which owns the facility. The two entities had been involved in outside-of-court mediation for about six months to determine each party’s percentage of ownership of the property, among other items including the handling of outstanding tax liens on the property.

A news release announcing the property’s listing states that both “parties intend to market the property nationally.”

“We will work hard to market the facility and attract a business or businesses to invest in Libby and bring quality jobs to our community,” Kevin Peck, chairman of the Port Authority board, states in the news release.

The property listed for sale includes a building of more than 100,000 square feet that sits on about nine acres. The news release states that though “the facility was previously used by Stinger to fabricate large steel girders...current zoning would allow the facility to be used for any number of industrial or commercial uses.”

In addition to the main building, constructed in 2011, the site includes a 4,800-square-foot addition and a 600-square-foot covered patio.
