An Ironman shooting competition took place Saturday, Aug. 26, in Libby.

Isaac O’Rourke was Tinman champion with a score of 74 — the highest youth score. Scoring 90, Dameon Kelch was Ironman champ, while Dan Ackerman with a 23 was scrap champion, Tom Bailey with a 24 was skeet champ, Mike Cirian with a 21 was five-stand champ and Keith Enyeart with a 24 was trap champion.

Cirian, the competition’s organizer, said the prize structure is set up so a participant can only win one of the championships, and if someone wins the Ironman the next highest score in each event becomes the winner in that event. A shooter who wins more than one event can choose which event to be champion in.

Shooters came from as far away as Kalispell and Metaline Falls, Washington, to compete.

The organizers thanked all who helped, including Ken Farmer, Mike and Robert Soppe, Dave Crum, Wayne Kubasko, Terry Spence and Dave Maclaughlin, who helped with scoring, loading targets and “generally running around,” according to Cirian.
