A thank you to firefighters, deputies and neighbors

| August 22, 2017 4:00 AM

My deepest appreciation to the Libby Volunteer Fire Department for the work you selflessly and masterfully do.

Recently, on Aug. 2, during the hottest hours of the day, you accomplished the nearly un-accomlishable when you attacked my blazing mobile home on Crossway Avenue in record heat, clad in heavy, monstrous fire gear and always on a moments notice.

I’m left to only imagine what that would feel like, or what the psyche would need to bear. Still, you headed directly into the inferno, without reservation, not knowing exactly what may lay beyond the doorway.

At the time, I was out of state, but all of my wonderful neighbors contacted me through various mediums. The first notification came from my heroine and hero, Sandy and Terry Walen, who also were quick to phone 911 and fill the first responders in on what had occurred. Thank you Terry and Sandy, thank you!

Marvel Thompson, Ralph and Peggy Taylor, Tim and Brenda Noble — you are all the best and I can only underscore how important it is to know and have great neighbors! I appreciate the dramatic and yet telling images you provided to assist with the insurance. All of you play or played an integral part in the telling of a sad and unfortunate saga.

To the responding members of the Sheriff’s Office — a hearty handshake and another “what would we do without out you?”

My heart goes out to ALL of you!

Please note, I would unhesitatingly do the very same for each and all of you. (I hope that isn’t a curse!)
