Hunter education classes set for Troy, Rexford and Eureka

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled local hunter education classes in advance of the upcoming hunting season. Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985, must show a certificate of completing one of these classes to purchase a hunting license in Montana.

There is no cost to attend one of these classes. Students must be at least 10 years old and apply online at fwp.mt.gov.

Upcoming classes include:

Troy — Classroom sessions will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 21, 22, 23 and 25 at Troy High School (116 E. Missoula Ave.). A field day will take place 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 24. For more information call Jim Jones at 406-295-4520.

Rexford — Classroom sessions will be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 21, 22, 24, 28, 29 and 31 at West Kootenai Community Church (5910 W. Kootenai Rd.). A field day will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 26. For more information call Lee Ressler at 406-889-3810.

Eureka — Classroom sessions will be held 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 5, 11, 12, 14, 18, 19 and 21 at Eureka Middle School (335 6th St.). A field day will take place 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 16. For more information call Megan Strom at 406-297-7909.
