Johnston wins by 13 in T-Falls

THOMPSON FALLS — Libby sophomore Ryggs Johnston shot a 3-under-par 69 to win the Thompson Falls Invitational golf tournament by 13 strokes and remain unbeaten in this season.

Johnston helped the Libby team to a third place finish, just 10 strokes behind Missoula Loyola for the team title. Sebo Sanders tied for ninth with Ronan’s Anthony Camel, carding an 89.

Bigfork’s Colton Stodghill finished second, firing a 9-over 81, helping the Vikings to a sixth place team finish. Eureka finished eighth as a team.

The Bigfork girls finished third as a team, with Isabella Santistevan finishing tied for fifth place after carding a 102. Rachel Whitney finished in 10th with a 114.

Eureka’s Darian Truman finished in eighth place after shooting 108 to help the Lions to a fourth place finish.

The Loyola girls took the top spot with ease, scoring the top three finishers, led by medalist Kylie Esh, who shot an 8-over 80.
