Michael J. Cummings, 77, of Troy died on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Libby of natural causes. He was born on October 25, 1939 at Port Angeles, Washington to James and Nellie Cummings. He grew up and attended school in Port Angeles, and graduated from Port Angeles High School.

Mike joined the US Army after high school and he learned to operate heavy equipment. He was honorably discharged after 4 years. Mike worked construction, and then started fishing as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. He built his own fishing boat and named her The Mary C. He fished for over 30 years in Alaska. He also built his own home in Alaska. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mike was a very kind and loving man. He had a dog named Sophie and a cat named Rose that he loved dearly.

Survivors include his wife Emily, Troy; a daughter Becky Potter, Squim, Wash.; a sister Bunny (Bill) Brodersen, Squim, Wash.; a step son Jeff Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.
