Lady Loggers defeat Hamilton

The Lady Loggers held off the Hamilton Lady Broncs last Thursday, and sent them home with a 5-2 loss.

In singles, Mehki Sykes blasted her opponent in the first round with 6-2, but in the second, Sykes barely held her own with 4-6, making her third set a tiebreaker. Sykes came out with the win 10-4.

Isabelle Martineau also had a tiebreaker third set, winning her first 7-5 but losing her second 3-6. In a close and heated third set, Martineau won 10-8.

Lauryn Lauer lost her battle against Hamilton’s Zoe Shinn, in three close sets of 6-7, 6-2 and 8-10.

Dora Antunes defeated her opponent in an uphill-battle. In the first set, Antunes lost 3-6, but came back in the second set and gained enough momentum to add another win in the third 14-12.

In Doubles, Jessika Jones and Marissa Wood delivered a punch against Hamilton’s Colleen May and Mia Simatovik with two sets of 6-2 and 6-4.

Madison and Morgan Snyder packed a punch during their match against Lady Broncs Kaylyn Homyak and Emilee Mosbrucker, coming home with a 6-2 and 6-3 victory.

Savannah Huni and Ciera Lucas failed to hold off their opponents in a tough match, losing 1-6 and 2-6.
