The Libby Lady Loggers defeated the Troy Lady Trojans last Thursday with a quick three-game match of 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.

Libby head volleyball coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston said she was very impressed with how her team played.

“We were very efficient in all aspects of the game,” Ostrem-Johnston said. “(We) met our goals of staying aggressive, energetic and focused.”

On the other side, Troy head volleyball coach Mandy Love thought her team played uncharacteristically poor.

“We were very jerky on our movement, and we haven’t done that before,” Love said.

On the home team’s side, the Lady Loggers had a total of 20 aces, 36 kills, 26 assists, one block and 24 digs. Jessika Jones scored seven for the team, with Allie Collins scoring six and Jayden Winslow with four. Allie Collins provided the team with 19 assists, and Khalyn Hageness gave six. Brooklyn Rainer had the sole block of the team. Emma Gruber had the team high of eight digs, with Jayden Winslow and Haylee Cannon adding three each.

Allyssa Lewis scored two aces for the team.

Lewis also led the team in kills with three, with Sami Rohrich and Olivia Roach close behind with two each.

Allie Coldwell made one block, and Allie Brown provided seven assists. For the team- high in digs, Kaitlyn Downey made 15.

“Libby is a good team, without question,” Love said.
