Elizabeth Holzer, 92, of Libby

Elizabeth (Betty) Holzer, 92 years old, passed away on Sept. 4, 2016.

She was born July 11, 1924 in Kansas City, Mo. and is the daughter of Maurice and Victoria Hubbard of Detroit Lakes, Minn.

She was a long-time resident of Riverside, Calif. and was currently residing in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. She also lived in Libby for several years.

Betty attended State Teachers College in Moorhead Minn. and later received her Master’s degree in education. She taught school for over 35 years and spent most of her career teaching fifth and sixth grades at Emerson Elementary School in Riverside, Calif.

After her retirement, she volunteered at the Mission Inn gift shop and was a docent at the Heritage House, both in Riverside. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, watching Jeopardy and her favorite hobby was genealogy.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, John Hubbard, of Fargo, N.D.; and her grandson, Todd Evan Rosenlof (age 16) in 2008, of Riverside.

She is survived by her son, David Holzer, and daughter-in-law, Tami Jellesed-Holzer of Libby, Mont.; her daughter, Cynthia Holzer-Reyes, and son-in-law, Nash Reyes, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; her daughter, Sylvia Holzer Koehler, of Post Falls, Idaho; and her grandson, Jeffrey Richard Holzer, of Libby, Mont. She is also survived by nephews, Steve Hubbard and Paul (Cheryl) Hubbard and niece Mary (Mark) Erdrich. She is also survived by several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Services will be out of state and at a later time. Remember her fondly.
