Candidate has deep family roots in Lincoln County
I keep encountering confusion over whether I am related to the other Managhans in Lincoln County. I guess there will always be people who spread misinformation. I hope this article helps clear up some of the confusion. I have strong family ties to our county.
In 1901, before Lincoln County existed, two Managhan brothers homesteaded in Northwest Montana. All of the Managhans in Lincoln County are the descendants of the original two brothers. Bob Managhan attended high school in Libby in the 1950s and married my mother, Caroline, shortly thereafter. They lived in Libby with my four older siblings, Robby, Paula, Ron and Barbara in the 1960s. They separated and I was born in St. Ignatius in 1970.
My uncle, Gary Managhan, also attended Libby High School and served in the Vietnam War following high school in 1962. He currently lives on Lake Creek Road just out of Troy with his wife Lana Managhan. They used to run a nursery and Gary still operates his gravel pit. Gary has four daughters, Marcy, Amy, Kari and Stacy, who all graduated from Troy high school. The Managhan Furniture group, Mark and Amber Managhan, are my second cousins. Likewise, Mike Managhan is my second cousin.
After 115 years, I have many more extended family members throughout Lincoln County with different last names. My deep family roots in Lincoln County are important. I understand our culture and our communities. I am a very proud Montanan who never abandoned Lincoln County. I am the only candidate for District Court Judge who has actually practiced law in Lincoln County.
Sincerely,
William Managhan
William Managhan is a candidate for Lincoln County District Court Judge.
