Raymond Finley

Raymond “Ray” Finley, 70, of Libby passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2016 at the Libby Care Center.

Ray was born on July 21, 1946 in Hawkins, Wisc. to Raymond and Eleanor Finley.

Ray spent the majority of his life in North Idaho and Montana. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, but most of all he enjoyed 50 years of playing music with many bands, including the Silverado Band, Borderline and a lot of jam sessions along the way.

Ray served in the U.S. Army, including multiple tours in Vietnam, where he received multiple commendations and medals. Ray will be missed by his loving wife, Lynne, his daughters, Carrie, Jennifer, Jasmin, Jessica, his son, Jamie, his grandson, Tony, his sisters, Donna and Lila, and his many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at the Christ Lutheran Church, 200 W. Larch St. in Libby with a graveside service to follow and a celebration of life at the VFW in Libby.

The family would like to say a special “thank you” to the nurses and staff at the Libby Care Center and Hospice for taking such great care of him the past months.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Libby Care Center, Libby Hospice or the VFW of Libby.
