Editor’s note: Tricia Brooks and Cyndi Miller are vying for the position of clerk of the District Court on Nov. 8. One will replace longtime clerk Susan Farmer, who is retiring at the end of the year, in a position that pays $43,000 a year.

Cyndi Miller, 44, has been the legal assistant for the Lincoln County Attorney’s Office for seven years. She has a total of 26 years of legal experience, including work as a paralegal and office manager in a general practice law firm.

“I have worked in every area of law that the District Court handles and much more,” Miller said. “I’ve properly managed millions of dollars of trust funds over the course of my career. This combination is an ideal background for the office of clerk of District Court.”

Miller said has had daily contact with all of the court staff and has worked with both candidates for District Court judge, Matt Cuffe and William Managhan. “If elected, I do not anticipate any changes to the current team of deputy clerks,” she said.

Miller said she offers a new set of eyes and a fresh approach to the operations of the office that will benefit everyone concerned. “My education, depth of legal knowledge and experience and the ability to bring that fresh perspective and modern ideas to the office clearly sets me apart,” she said.

Miller is a Libby native and has been married to Joe Miller for 21 years. The couple have owned Libby Kwik Lube since 2014.
