The Western News

On this day every year, smokers and tobacco users are encouraged to quit, through hand-drawn posters from local elementary and high school students.

Nov. 17 marks the American Cancer Society’s annual Great American Smokeout.

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center asks students from grades Kindergarten-12th to create posters using any medium on 11x17 inch paper, to contain an anti-smoking/anti-tobacco message in honor of the Great American Smokeout.

The posters were submitted to CPMC on Nov. 14, and the winners were announced on Nov. 15.

The winning posters will be reprinted and hung at local businesses throughout Libby and Troy.
