Thanks to Bothman, Northern Energy

| November 8, 2016 8:35 AM

The Kootenai Cross-Country Ski Club is a small non-profit whose volunteers maintain and groom cross-country ski trails (at South Flower, Bear Creek, Flatiron Summit and the Golf Course), provide free lessons to school children and the general public, and rent ski packages for the winter at affordable rates.

Another activity we sponsor is night skiing on Saturday nights using propane lanterns. In recent years, fire activity in the area has been an issue, and the Forest Service required us to find a new way to handle the propane tanks in the off-season. Trying to figure out a way to keep the cost down, we thought outside the box and approached Rocky Bothman at Northern Energy. Rocky generously agreed to store the propane tanks in the off-season on his site at Northern Energy – solving the problem and saving the club the expense of a special propane storage system. Thanks, Rocky!! It’s community-minded folks like you that make Libby such a special place to call home!
