A matter of clarification
Letter to the Editor:
I’d like to clarify some misinformation written by D.C. Orr.
My complaint sent to Jonathan Motl on May 4, 2016, was only regarding Allen Olsen’s most recent run for office last November. After carefully reading Mr. Motl’s response, I understand his legal position. Allen Olsen filed for office on June 30, 2015, listing residency as 814 1/2 Utah. By the election in November, Allen was no longer living at the Utah address. What no one can prove is where he was living 60 days prior to the election – maybe in the city – maybe not. We don’t even know where he’s living now.
Although I am bothered by Allen’s deceitfulness, I am not going to play games with him. I am not going to waste my energy being negative. I am not going to cost the city money by working toward a recall election.
I’d like to see the city council recruit a parliamentarian to keep meetings on track and functioning civilly and legally. I’d like to have the members of the city council share their vision for projects and policies that will enhance our city both fiscally and visually – projects that will grab us to respond and to participate. I’d like to see city residents attend council meetings no longer to observe the shenanigans but to support the council in moving forward.
