39, of Troy

 

Beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend, Leejay Leighty, 39, of Troy, passed away April 21, 2016, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Leejay was born in Libby July 7, 1976, to Howard and Darla Leighty. Leejay grew up in Troy and spent many years working in the logging industry. Most recently he worked as a Timbco operator for TBC. Leejay enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, boating, fixing up trucks, snowmobiling, mudding and spending time with family.

Leejay is survived by his wife Francesca; five wonderful children, Zoe, 18, Hunter, 15, Braden, Jayden and Jayleen; siblings Darwin Leighty, Michelle Leighty, Tyler Powell, Dalton Powell and Tucker Winn; mother Darla Winn, stepfather Leslie “Punk” Winn; nieces Aisha and Aiden; nephew Tyran; grandparents Jay and Alma Basham and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Leejay is preceded in death by his father Howard Leighty in 2007; his grandmother Ilah Leighty in 2000, uncle Ron Leighty in 1996 and grandpa Bruce Leighty in 1993.

A celebration of life gathering with family and friends took place Saturday, April 23, 2016, at the Roosevelt Park Pavilion. Your smile and stories will be missed around the campfire. We love you.
