Loggers triumph in Eureka

The Libby Loggers traveled to Eureka for the Lincoln County Track Meet Tuesday, and both the boys and girls came home victorious.

The boys edged second place Lincoln County High by just four points, winning the meet 74.5-70.5. Troy finished third with 32 points. On the girls’ side of the track, the Lady Loggers outpaced Eureka 93.5 to 73.5, with Troy scoring 10 points in the meet.

Libby’s Emily Mossburg won the 400 with a time of 1:04.2, she also grabbed the high jump victory with a jump of 5.0 feet. Lauren Thorstenson won both the 1,600 and 3,200, with times of 5:44.57 and 14:05.2, respectively. Emma Gruber also picked up two first-place finishes, in the 100 and 300 hurdles with respective times of 18.09.2 and 52.16.2.

Shannon Reny threw her way to two victories in field events, with a 30-08.50 shotput performance and 84-02 in the discus. Krysten Mossburg picked up the long jump win with a leap of 15-10.

Troy’s Olivia Roach secured the Lady Trojans’ only event win with a 32-08.50 triple jump.

Libby’s Tim Goodman ran to victory in three events, the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. Brian Peck won both the 110 and 300 hurdles. The boys also won the 400 and 1,600 relays.

Troy’s Sean Opland had an impressive meet, picking up victories in the 200 and 400, as well as the high jump and javelin.
