Trojan Lanes scores big in men's league opener

Trojan Lanes jumped out to the early lead in the Cabinet View Golf Club Tuesday night men’s league, beating the Timberline Auto foursome, 14-2 in the first week of play.

Northwest Motor Sports and Remp’s Sand and Gravel are tied for second with 13 points each, after beating Moose River and Payne West Insurance, 13-3, respectively. Fish ‘n’ Golf is holding down the fourth position after a 12-4 victory over the Elks. Annie’s Cleaning knocked off Advantage Seal and Stripe, 10-6, to claim the fifth spot, with Roy’s securing sixth place after a 9-7 win over Switchback.

In the bottom half, Switchback is holding seventh place with seven points, Advantage is in eighth with six, the Elks have ninth with four points. Payne West and Moose River are tied for 10th with three points and Timberline is bringing up the rear with two.

Joe Cielak took the honors for indivdual low gross after a score card playoff. Marc McCurley had the individual low net. Terry Patrick pushed in the longest putt on the sixth hole and Mike Duperault was closest to the pin on the par-three seventh hole.
