The annual Cabinet Peaks Medical Center health fair will be held Saturday, April 9, at the Libby Memorial Events Center. The fun begins at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 12:30 p.m.

Hospital marketing manager Kate Stephens said the fair is the hospital’s way of giving something back to the communities of Lincoln County.

“This annual health fair is just one more way that Cabinet Peaks Medical Center can give back to the community that it serves,” she said. “Our employees really enjoy the event. They love being given the opportunity to educate the public on health, wellness and on all the things they do in their jobs every day to make lives better for the people of south Lincoln County.”

The fair will feature free a number of booths from both the hospital and other area vendors, including information and activities about healthy food options, alternative therapies, the effects of drugs and alcohol, tobacco prevention, stroke awareness, outdoor recreational activities and a kids’ zone. Participants at this year’s health fair will also receive vouchers for free and discounted health screenings at the hospital.

“The first 200 people to show up at the fair and sign up for a draw time will be given free lipid and glucose tests,” Stephens said. “As always, the additional tests such as TSH, A1C and Hemogram will be offered at a discounted price. If more than 200 fair goers come to sign up for draws, any additional folks wll be offered all of the tests at the discounted price.”
