The Libby Loggers and Lady Loggers had exceptional seasons for their first year in District 7-B, as evidenced by the selection of six athletes to the All-Conference and All-State teams after the season.

Logger freshman Ryggs Johnston and senior Jonny Cielak were named to the All-Conference first team, with junior Erik Lauer earning second team honors. For the Lady Loggers, freshman Jayden Winslow and junior Abby Ennenga were named to the second team, with sophomore Shannon Reny earning first team All-Conference and All-State recognition.

Head coach Jim May praised the girls for the dedication and effort.

“Jayden had a great season” he said. “She really fought through some tough injuries and still impressed the other conference coaches. She was a consistent scorer for us and really developed into an important defender for us.”

May highlighted Ennenga’s defensive contributions to the team.

“Abby really impressed the conference coaches,” he said. “Her rebounding and scoring numbers continued to climb throughout the season.  We were able to put Abby on perimeter players on defense and she is a great shot blocker.”

Reny, he said, had an exceptional season on both offense and defense and showed her caliber as the team’s leader.

“Shannon was very well respected by the conference coaches,” he sad. “The only girl in my tenure here to average double figures in both rebounds and points.  She also became a pretty good defender.  Shannon’s enthusiasm and energy was contagious.”

Boys head coach Josh Bean did not respond to an email request for comment prior to press time Monday.
