82, of Libby

Barbara L. Rice was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Great Falls, to Donald and Edna (Scheidecker) Rice. She was raised in Dutton, Cut Bank and Libby.

After graduating from Libby High School, she went to Eastern Montana College in Billings to get a teaching degree. Barbara taught in Bridger and Olympia, Wash., before returning to Billings, where she spent the bulk of her career, finishing at Highland Elementary.

Barbara loved to travel and volunteered at local hospitals and cultural venues. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Billings.

Barbara went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2016. She is survived and will be missed by her sister, Ginger Irvin; her aunt, Marilyn Scheidecker; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends.

Services for Barbara will be 11 a.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at Schnackenberg & Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Libby. Online condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.schnackenbergfh.com.
